A Leading Managed Care Organization
Client Challenge
One of the largest Managed Care Organizations (MCO) operating in the District of Columbia needed to cultivate new relationships and maintain existing ones with major provider groups, local business community partners, the Mayor, relevant District agency directors, and members of the City Council and their staff.
AMC Solution
To assist the company in meeting this goal, the American Management Corporation team proposed hosting an event in the Wilson building (DC’s city hall). The goal was to provide DC Councilmembers and their staff with an opportunity to learn about the MCO and its programs, meet senior staff, and connect with some of the MCO’s local business community partners. In coordination with MCO staff, American Management managed the logistics for the event, including securing a date and location, distributing invitations, and facilitating introductions for key staff and invitees.
Results
For the past several years, AMC has successfully managed the annual Healthy Resource Breakfast event. This event has consistently attracted over 300 attendees, including staff from the Executive Office of the Mayor, DC Councilmembers, their chiefs of staff, and directors of constituent services.
A Renowned Pediatric Hospital
Client Challenge
A well-respected hospital based in Washington DC faced the challenge of acquiring community support for the transfer of a twelve-acre parcel of the former Walter Reed Army Medical site. The goal was to develop an international research facility on this site, which required extensive stakeholder outreach and engagement.
AMC Solution
American Management Corporation played a crucial role in addressing this challenge by conducting extensive outreach and engagement efforts within the community, the Mayor’s office, and the DC Council. The AMC team met with affected Advisory Neighborhood Commissions, the Mayor’s Community Advisory Council for Walter Reed, and the Shepard Park Citizens Association to educate its members and residents about the hospital’s plans for the site and to receive community feedback. Additionally, the AMC team assisted in garnaring support from DC Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton.
Results
As a result of these efforts, AMC successfully obtained several resolutions of support from the Advisory Neighborhood Commissions and community groups, demonstrating strong community backing for the hospital’s development plans.
